Hi!
Today I worked on two environment concept.
I wanted to tackle the very dreaded lighting challenge that is underwater scenes ! Didn't expect to struggle as much as I did learning this but it was a really great project and exercise that taught me a lot.
My goal was for those to really be moody and create an ambiance, such as the concept that can be seen in the Dory art book ! (that I absolutely loved by the way). This allowed me to really focus on color work and create interesting palettes and play with shadows and lights on different color bases.

I also took time at the beginning of this project to work on composition in the simplest way possible, to be sure to achieve a readable image and concept that would create great focus where i wanted it to be. Working with simple values really allows to have maximum control on what you want to say in your illustration and that was a great experience that I shall continue to use when I produce!
